Also her Golurk is definitely a reference even if the movie didn't come out until like... 20 years later. Interesting trivia: ballpoint pens are officially mass produced in October, 1945, so the one ballpoint she has is a super novelty given to her by her brothers.

Personality: Bright and cheery, Cholet is feminine but stubborn. Her head strong personality is usually concealed underneath a polite and innocent exterior. Find something she’s interested in, however, and her mind will pursue after it forever. She’s curious and surprisingly well educated (courtesy of her daddy and the neighborhood wise widow), and her optimism can either be infectious or highly annoying; depends on the individual, of course.

History: 

Born just mere three years before the onset of the Great Depression, Cholet lived out her childhood in a small apartment nestled within Castelia City. Her mother apparently left right after she was born, leaving her with four older brothers and a father who fought in WWI. Her neighbor, a widow of a WWI veteran, became her guide to being a girl. From her, the little Cholet learned all the ways of being a proper lady. She also learned language, science, math, and random factoids from all the books the old lady owned.

When WWII began for Unova, her four brothers were drafted into the military. The eldest into the army, the second into the air force, and the third and fourth (twins, they were) into the navy. Some were deployed to free Kalos from the invading Kanto troops, others trained in camps stationed in Southern Sinnoh. Cholet dropped out of high school to work in the booming war industry of making uniforms. She earned enough money to take care of her aging daddy, whose increasingly frequent episodes of flashback to WWI trenches caused him to resign as a military engineer.

The war ended on a brisk September morning in 1945, after Hoenn finally surrendered unconditionally. Kanto has long been conquered, and the men out front were coming home. Except for her eldest brother, lost during the initial invasion of Johto mainland, everyone came back in relative health. Sure, Reggie lost half of his left leg island hopping in Hoenn, and Pollux lost one of his fingers to frostbites, but the family was finally back again. With the return of his sons, Cholet’s daddy began to recover mentally. On the eve of Thanksgiving, Cholet went out shopping for last minute food items and rounded a corner onto Main Street. 

Except Main Street wasn’t there anymore. She was in a cave.

Misc: 

-Working in the cotton filled uniform factory left Cholet with permanent damage in her lungs. As far as she’s concerned, they’re not serious enough to receive medical attention

-She always carries a journal, pen, ink, and pencil with her. Never know what you’re going to find on a perceivably normal walk~

-She loves baking and prides herself in her honey bread. Due to food shortages during the war, however, it’s been a long time since she had honey to make her famed dessert.

Size: 1’5” tall, 2’9’’ wide

Personality: She’s Cholet overprotective sister, as if she didn’t have enough of that already. Pancakes sees herself as the most loyal dog of all, and takes her duty as Cholet’s self-proclaimed guardian very seriously. Despite her small size, she has a fierce and tireless demeanor.

History: Daddy said that Pancakes is from a long line of lillipups their family breeds specially for themselves, but Cholet and her siblings always took it as a joke. Wherever Pancakes came from, she had been Cholet’s first and foremost friend ever since she could remember. The two grew up together, and are inseparable.

Misc: Cholet has multiple ribbons for her, but the red one is definitely her favorite.

Gender: Male

Species: Golurk

Moveset: Phantom Force, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Fly

Ability: Klutz

Size: 10’5” tall, 5’ wide

Personality: As much as Pancakes may value herself as Cholet’s body guard, Hal is Cholet’s true guardian. His large size is only punctuated by his silent presence, as he often lurks in Cholet’s shadow if he’s not in his pokeball. Seemingly devoid of emotion, Hal actually enjoys cuddles and hugs, especially from Cholet.

History: Before the war began, Cholet’s eldest brother used to travel around as a journalist. When he came back from one of the expeditions, he brought back a Golette as his dear little sister’s Christmas present. As a curious being, Cholet was immediately taken with the prehistoric robot, and one way or another, the two became good friends. When Hal evolved, he could no longer take walks with her without attracting attention, so he soon adapted to hiding inside Cholet’s shadow.

Misc: He loves carrying Cholet around in the sky (she finds flying really fascinating), but is rarely able to because unidentified flying objects in the sky during war time always cause a big scare.

Name: Piper

Species: Noibat

Moveset: Protect, Air Cutter, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse

Ability: Infiltrator

Size: 1’ tall, 1’ wide

Personality: Despite how timid he is, Piper gets along well with others and is the nice, weak kid in the playground. Maybe dues to his small size, but he loves corners and tiny spaces, and frequently hides under Cholet’s hat. As his ears grow bigger, however, he’s finding it harder and harder to hide completely….

History: During one of the rare chances that Cholet went outside Castelia City for a family vacation, her brothers brought her to explore a lakeside cave. A small group of noibats dropped down from the ceiling to attack them, but the siblings were well prepared. Cholet caught Piper with Hal’s help, and the noibat had been with her ever since.

Misc: He loves hide-and-seek, and plays it with Hal, Pancakes, and Cholet all the time.
